Catalytic Carbon Whole House Water Filter System

$1,695.00

High capacity whole house water filter system for large homes or mansions (6+ bathrooms). This filtration system filters all the water that enters your house, which means that every time you open any faucet, or use your shower, washing machine, and toilet, there will be filtered water. 316L stainless steel filter housing with catalytic carbon filters. Removes sediment, scale build up, chlorine, chloramine, trihalomethanes, volatile organic chemicals, methyl tertiary butyl ether, and more from water.

Catalytic Carbon Whole House Water Filter System for Large Homes (4-6 Bathrooms): 316L stainless steel filter housing with catalytic carbon filters. Removes sediment, scale build up, chlorine, chloramine, trihalomethanes, volatile organic chemicals, methyl tertiary butyl ether, and more from water.

The Premiere SS820EPE-316LCC is an industrial grade whole house water filter system, also called a point of entry water filter (POE water filter). It is ideal for large homes (4-6 bathrooms) or industrial applications. This filtration system filters all the water that enters your house, and is usually installed before your water heater, thus filtering both warm and cold water. This means that every time you open any faucet, or use your shower, washing machine, and even toilet, there will be filtered water.

The included 5 micron catalytic carbon filter cartridges remove sediment, offensive tastes and odors, chlorine, chloramine, trihalomethanes (THMs), volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), and more. Our catalytic carbon filter also contains corrosion and scale inhibitor product to protect your pipes, plumbing connections, and appliances that use water (such as a boiler, tankless water heater, washing machine, or dishwasher) which are susceptible to damage due to scaling. Other whole house tank systems may sound appealing  because you don’t have to worry about changing filters for 5+ years, but you are using same carbon day in and day out (never refreshing the media) meaning the media gets extremely beat up and the water quality drops. Also by not replacing the media for years and years, bacteria can grow in the tank and on the media causing odors, a funny taste, and most significantly it poses a health risk.

The 316L stainless steel housing provides maximum durability and is resilient to corrosive substances and chemicals. Enjoy peace of mind against the risk of failure and flood damage. A stainless steel water filter housing is the preferred choice for many applications due to its durability and extended life compared to plastic housings. Don’t be tricked by fiberglass, resin, or plastic housings that may only have a “stainless steel wrapper” which is for looks and doesn’t provide any structural integrity. Fiberglass, resin, and plastic housings may also leach into your water.

Catalytic Carbon Whole House Water Filter System Features and Benefits

  • Delivers an impressive flow rate of 24 gallons per minute, which is a sufficient supply of filtered water for very large homes or mansions (6+ bathrooms) and industrial applications
  • Provides tremendous capacity to remove and/or reduce impurities and sediment that may be present in your water
  • Catalytic carbon filter has millions of active sites on its surface and within the structure which can absorb impurities like a sponge, and hold other types of impurities on its surface like a magnet
  • Catalytically breaks down impurities similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile
  • The catalytic carbon processes ensure that you are getting the cleanest and best tasting water possible
  • This filter system does not have a channeling problem. (Filter channeling is a condition when water finds its way through pockets in the filter media, and avoids being filtered. Water finds the path of least resistance, so if it can form a channel for easier flow-through, it will).
  • Delivers clean, clear water that looks and tastes great
  • Significantly reduces hardness build up due to minerals present in the water supply
  • Does not remove minerals which may be beneficial to health
  • Welded 316L Stainless Steel (electro-polished) for extended life
  • Seal plates secured into the cartridge to ensure a positive seal
  • V-band clamp for easy opening and closing
  • Both sludge and clean chambers have drain openings for easy cleaning
  • Uses four (4) catalytic carbon filter cartridges which are included
  • Made in USA
  • NSF® certified components. NSF International is one of the most respected independent certification organizations, which rigorously tests products to comply with all standard requirements.

Stainless Steel HousingYes – The housing is made entirely of 316L stainless steel which is extremely durable and corrosion resistant. Up-flow or down-flow system

Up-flow systems direct the water in the up-flow direction of the system.

Down-flow systems direct the water in a down-flow direction.
Down-flow system with no channelling issues. The catalytic carbon filters allow maximum contact between the filtration media and water allowing for maximum contaminant and chemical removal.Down-flow system - Channelling prevents water from reaching unexpired portions of media. As a result, this system is less effective at filtering chemicals from the water. Down-flow system - Channelling prevents water from reaching unexpired portions of media. As a result, a down-flow system is less effective at filtering chemicals from the water. Up-flow system. “Up-flow” is mostly a sales pitch for Culligan but there are more downsides than upsides. An upflow filter with no backwash results in inconsistent, typically inadequate flow to keep the media bed clean. In fact, water can float past the carbon without touching it. Up-flow systems have a very narrow band of optimal operation and are extremely finnicky.
Up-flow systems may have a slightly higher efficiency (10-15%) but the average homeowner will not notice this difference.
Channeling - Filter channeling is a condition when water finds its way through pockets in the filter media, and avoids being filtered. Water finds the path of least resistance, so if it can form a channel for easier flow-through, it will.No channelingChanneling can occurChanneling can occurChanneling can occur. Even though water then flows from the bottom of the tank through the filter media in a swirling motion, water will still travel the path of least resistance and it’s not exempt from channeling.

What is scale?

Scale is a hard, mineral coating that can collect on the water-side of pipes, plumbing connections, and appliances that use water. Scale is a problem because diminishes water flow, increases energy consumption and costs, and causes corrosion and failure.

Scale removal and scale inhibitor

The best and easiest way to maintain your pipes, plumbing connections, and appliances that use water is to have a water filter with scale inhibitor.

The SS820EPE-316LCC catalytic carbon whole house water filter system with corrosion and scale inhibitor filters will remove existing scale deposits, prevent scale, and stop corrosion. Scale inhibitor works by forming a thin protective layer on the metal surface to prevent the deposition of scale and corrosion.
