About Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis, or RO for short, is method of water purification. RO water is water filtered via a reverse osmosis filter. This method of water purification is arguably one of the very best levels of purification to be created. The process itself uses a membrane filter in which water has to pass via a thin membrane, allowing molecules only of the certain size to pass. Most membranes contain physical pores of the certain size, except ro membranes. Instead, it uses it’s own molecular framework to accept water elements to pass through and reject virtually anything else. As gasses are permitted to pass throughout the membrane, it can lead to RO water being more acidic than natural water. RO water generally has a pH around 6, based on the content of CO2.

Benefits of RO systems & RO water

One of the biggest benefits of ro water is the fact that it filters out nearly everything resulting pure, great tasting water.

Water is known as the universal solvent for a great reason. Pure water is great at dissolving a wide range of materials.

Potential Disadvantages of RO Systems and RO Water

There are some downsides to RO filters. Since they’re such a tight filter, the incoming water should be reasonably clean in advance since the filter may clog up more rapidly.

Another consideration of RO water is that as it is so pure, it may be devoid of essential nutrients our bodies would normally get from natural water. Natural water contains nutrients that are essential to a healthy body. Drinking only RO water is not advisable for those vulnerable to getting osteoporosis especially.

Alternative to Reverse Osmosis

If you’re looking for the purity of reverse osmosis water but want to retain the healthful minerals natural water provides consider the Premiere Membrane Water Purification System (PS-PURUF).
