Automatic Shut Off Valve for Reverse Osmosis Systems

Easily control water flow from your reverse osmosis system with this premium automatic shut off valve. The PS-ASV 4-way valve automatically turns off the water going into an RO unit when the pressure storage tank is about 2/3 full, and turns the water back on when the tank’s pressure drops. An automatic shut off valve prevents wastewater constantly going to drain.

Simple to install – easily push tubing into the quick connect fittings for a secure, reliable fit.  Made in USA from food grade material. For use with 1/4″ reverse osmosis tubes (most RO systems use 1/4″ tubing).

How to Replace an Automatic Shut Off Valve for Reverse Osmosis Systems

Please refer to your RO unit manual for instructions of how to replace the auto shut off valve for your system. Instructions might vary for systems. As general guidance, here is how to install the PS-ASV:

  1. Shut off the feed water valve.
  2. Shut off the tank valve and turn on the drinking water faucet to drain any water.
  3. Locate and disconnect the existing shut off valve by removing one tube one at a time. There may be some excess water in the tubes so be prepared to catch the water with a towel or bucket.
  4. Connect the tube from the pre-filter water outlet to the IN on the shut off valve, connect the tube from the RO membrane water inlet to the OUT directly across on the other side of the shut off valve. See details below for how to make a quick connection.
  5. Connect the tube from the RO membrane pure water outlet to the other IN on the shut off valve, connect the system tee connector to the OUT directly across on the other side of the shut off valve.
  6. Turn on the feed water valve and check for leaks.
  7. Shut off drinking water faucet after air is purged out.
  8. Turn on the tank valve.

How to Make a Quick Connection

Check that all the tube ends you’ll be inserting into the auto shut off valve are cut straight (not angled). Push tubing straight in as far as it will go – it will go over a small bump and come to complete stop. You should be able to gently pull the tubing and it remains in place. When you turn back on the water, make sure there are no leaks.

To remove the tubing from the quick connect fitting, compress the nylon ring on the connector with your fingers.
